Center Supports for Metal Side Rails - Fits Full and Queen Size

The PROs of the BL-1 center support

The BL-1 support is designed specifically to work with metal side rails. The center supports fit onto your side rails and drilling is not usually required. Assembly is very easy, though you will need a mallet or hammer to insert a plastic piece into the feet of the support. Take a look at the warranty card provided by the manufacturer of your mattress and box spring set. Most manufacturers do not require extra center support for full size beds. But with today's heavy mattress sets, it sure cannot hurt to add extra center support to your bed. Your mattress warranty requires proper center support if you have a queen size mattress set. Without proper center support, your queen size bedding may sag in the middle. This can happen in a very short period of time. Always use a rigid center support bar with a leg or legs to the floor to support your queen size bedding.

The CONs of the BL-1

The BL-1 is not a very versatile product because it does not allow for any adjustability. It workes with either full size metal bed frames(52-3/8 inches wide) or it works with queen size metal bed frames (up to 59-1/2 inches wide) but it cannot be adjusted between the two sizes. If the distance between the two side rails on your bed frame is no more than 51-1/2 inches for full size or 58-1/2 inches for queen size, the BL-1 will work for you. (And the height of your bed frame is 6-5/8" to 9" tall.) If not, you'll need the more versatile ELM-211 center support.
